I had a busy weekend! I finished 3 new designs for our clients this weekend and I thought I would share them with you. These are all plans that I modified from my plan collection based on meetings I had with each client. I design everything in 3D on all of our plans so we can show you the complete exterior of the home and interior of the home in the design process. I find this has been extremely helpful for our clients in truly understanding what the home will look like when it is built.
I will be building all these homes this Spring so come check them out and see how accurate they really are!

The Grand English Manor is a new version of one our most popular plans. What I like most about this plan is that it is a versatile plan that works well for many of our clients. It is a great family home with the open plan design and large bedrooms upstairs, but it can also be changed into a plan that works well for our clients that are looking to downsize although they still need a good number of guest bedrooms. Our clients that live in this plan love the open flow of the kitchen, great room and dining area. They also enjoy the private screened porch off of the dining area.
Here are a few of the modifications we have made to this plan:
- In-Law Suite: One of our more requested features are plans with 2 first floor bedrooms. We have a version of this plan where we have modified the study into an in-law suite.
- Dining Room: Although we have made the dining area on this plan large enough to accomodate a full size dining set, some of our clients would still prefer to have a formal dining room. We have converted the study into formal dining and also have a version that has a flex study which can be used as both a dining room and study.
- Exterior: Whether your style is Southern Farmhouse, French Country, or New England this plan can be adapted to your favorite style.
- Garage: 2 car, 3 car, or 4 car can all be added onto this plan. We also have front load garage version.
- Loft: Often our clients don’t need 4 bedrooms so we have modified the 4th bedroom into a loft area that can be used for a tech area or media room. We have also done a verison with a second floor porch of off the loft.
- Smaller or Larger: We have adapted this plan down to 2400 SF or as big as 4200 SF. And if you want even more flexibility we have a basement finish plans too.
I would love to hear your thoughts on this plan or any of our plans. You can comment on them below or chat with us.

This plan was inspired from our family experiences living in our current home. When I built my current house I was a bachelor and my needs in a home were much different – I had the coolest sound system around with touch panels in the wall – who needs closet space? Well now with a wife and 2 daughters I now know how important that closet space is! It’s amazing how much stuff kids have. The standard lockers in the mudroom just can’t handle all that stuff. So inspired by our own needs I we have developed the Ultimate Family Home.
Features
- 2900 SF
- 2.5 Baths (optional additional full bath)
- 4 bedrooms
- Tons of closets!
Main Floor – 1300 SF

Second Floor – 1600 SF
More Features
- Mudroom – You can never have too much closet space. The lockers combined with the hall of closets will give you plenty of storage. The closet doors will have have chalkboards built-in so you can write reminder notes to your kids and hang-up that A paper she is so proud of!
- Outdoor Living – An outdoor fireplace is perfect for those cool fall evenings. The Porch opens up to a large patio with built in Grill for that Ultimate barbecuer in the Family.
- Tech Space – The tech space is not just for the kids anymore. Its the perfect place for a mini office to pay the bills and for the kids to do their homework. We found that full size Study rooms have a lot of wasted square feet in them that can be better placed elsewhere.
- Kitchen – The Ultimate Kitchen is the Heart of the home. We made it plenty big for the gourmet cook and also very comfortable for the whole family to hang out at the island. It is perfect for Holiday entertaining with the open design into the Great Room and Dining Room.
- Great Room – The Great Room is the perfect size. The feature wall has a stunning barrel arch over the fireplace with a bookcase flanking each side of the fireplace. The stone fireplace has a flared over mantle.
- Laundry – One of the key features of this home that make it live very comfortably is the continuous flow of the plan. You’ll notice you can draw a complete circle of from the front entry through the kitchen and back through the mud hall to the foyer. This flow makes everything very easy to get to – especially when you are in a hurry!
